All our work and community centres are staffed by local Myanmar people. Empowering local people to teach in and lead the programmes brings about a sustainable future.
The community centres are open, in most cases, six days a week. One morning a week, all of the local staff come together, from all of the community centres, to meet for a full staff meeting, for training and community. From this staff we have core leaders and potential leaders, who spend an afternoon together resolving issues and sharing their experiences.
Some of our staff team have come to the community centre programmes as recipients, have stayed as volunteers and have eventually been hired as regular staff. Since we have a staff presence in the community centres 24/7, it’s wonderful to have someone invested in their own community, training and equipping and caring for their own people group.
